On August 15th 2011 Matt, Kathy & big sister Lylah joyfully welcomed Lukas Oszust into their family. On his 5th day, their lives were changed forever. It was then they learned Lukas’s devastating diagnosis
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This was not detected in utero…
Concerned for Lukas, his parents brought him to Lacombe’s ER, from there was sent to Red Deer Hospital, & then airlifted by STARS
to the Stollery at U of A hospital in Edmonton. In God’s Hands Lukas currently fights for his life in the PICU, with his family at his side.
He has undergone his first reconstructive heart surgery, & will require at least two more surgeries by his 2nd birthday to repair his heart.
